MARTINEZ, Calif. – Sonnikson, formerly Sonnikson & Stordahl Construction, will enter its third decade in business with a standalone name and a refined modern visual aesthetic. The company’s rebrand is backed by the timeless values that the company was first founded upon and have been upheld for 30 years: integrity, safety and service.
“Every project we partner on is another opportunity to maintain the reputation my father founded this company upon when he first made a name for himself doing concrete,” said President Paul Sonnikson. “I take great pride in continuing to champion a culture of excellence where clients know who to call first for excellent work done safely and exceptionally well.”
To mark three decades in business and the establishment of the standalone Sonnikson name, the company has undergone a complete design rebrand to better showcase the work they do. Elements will be unveiled in the coming months, including a new logo, signage and a website launch.
“Our company values are rich in history and tradition, but technology and innovation are at the forefront of how we will continue to best serve our customers’ needs,” said Sonnikson. “It was time for our brand to reflect where we are right now, and where we’re headed in the future.”
In an industry that many companies have succumbed to, Sonnikson credits its staying power to its meticulous safety and craftsmanship standards, and a workforce of over 80 employees who take ownership and passion in upholding them. They have fostered a reputation of being the gold standard when it comes to design builds, project management and consulting in the various industries they serve.
Paul’s grandfather first started the company with a focus on general building, later evolving into industrial construction as Sonnikson Construction. The company eventually changed hands to Paul’s father, who focused on concrete work in the industrial sectors with small crews. It was during this time that the Sonnikson name became the go-to subcontractor for refineries because of its reputation for impeccable and trustworthy workmanship.
In 1992, Mike Sonnikson Construction joined forces with Pat Stordahl to launch a mechanical division, merging clientele and workforces to form the industrial concrete and mechanical construction company that operates today. Throughout the years, the company has continued to grow to serve other areas. Today, Sonnikson is an open shop civil, mechanical, structural and general contractor that serves the manufacturing, agricultural, process and power industries with in-house operations.
